Friday Finds: Jean-Baptiste Bourgois In-Person
Jean-Baptiste Bourgois
Children's Book Illustrators Looking at The New Yorker
Join Jean-Baptiste Bourgois, a comic book maker and PhD at the University of Tours (France) to explore the subject of his research in Bryn Mawr's special collections. Bourgois's dissertation explores the influence of The New Yorker on children's book creators in France. He comes to Bryn Mawr to research the papers of Katharine Sergeant White (Class of 1914), which are held in special collections. White was the first fiction editor for The New Yorker magazine and made an impact on children's book publishing in the U.S.
