Tech Talk: Student Creative Projects and Faculty Website Development In-Person

Veronica Montes (Sociology) and Cathryne Velazquez (’18) discuss building Dr. Montes's personal website to showcase her research and the projects of her Sociology students. Students share what they learned creating collaborative, multi-media final projects for Sociology.

From the course on Sociology of Globalization, Muyng Ha Kim and Gisell Montoya discuss "Medical Tourism and the Role of the State." From the course on Mexican-American communities, Rebeca Salas, Christina Cho, and Sergio Diaz discuss their project, "Nostalgia Markets: Experiencing Home." From the course on Mexican-American communities (Fall 2016), Cathryne Velazquez discusses " Crossing the Border: a Journey of Hope." She will also talk about her experience creating Dr. Montes's blog. 

The students will focus mainly on their creative process, why they chose the digital platforms they used over other possibilities, and what they learned.
